Just in time for Bike to Work Week (May 26 to June 1, 2014), TransLink is pleased to announce the opening of the new Secure Bike Parking area at Main Street-Science World SkyTrain Station. The Secure Bike Parking area is located indoors, inside the newly upgraded east stationhouse, and boasts 86 bike racks, more than four times the number of bike lockers that used to sit outside the station
The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Minister of Transport, today announced an important change that will benefit travellers flying with Canadian air operators, as well as the aviation industry. Passengers will soon be able to use portable electronic devices such as cameras, electronic games, tablets and computers during all phases of flight. This includes while an aircraft takes off, climbs, descends and lands, provided the device is in non-transmitting, or flight mode, and that their airline has met certain safety conditions outlined by Transport Canada.
Data from the Fuel Consumption Survey are now available for 2013 upon request. The survey measures the road use, fuel consumption and environmental impact of light motor vehicles (weighing less than 4.5 tonnes).
